Carnival time

Touch down in Rio de Janeiro where our local guide will be waiting to whisk you away to the Arena Leme hotel in the district of the same name. Over the next few days you can get to grips with Brazilian culture through the world’s largest street party.

Visit the Sambadrone to watch the enormous colourful parades, sip caipirinhas on the gorgeous beaches, visit Corcovado, Christ the Redeemer, Tijuca National Park and Sugarloaf Mountain and join in the fun. Each night is spent back at the wonderful Arena Leme Hotel. After five days, you’ll almost be able to call yourself a carioca!

The mighty falls

Full chilled and ready for more you will fly to Iguaçu Falls where you will stay at the Falls Iguazu Hotel on the Argentine side of the falls.

They say there is no greater experience of natural beauty than a glimpse of the famous falls, the place native Indians believed to be the mouth of one of its gods. Our guide will take you to the Brazilian side of these great waterfalls, made famous in the film The Mission, as Robert De Niro teeters over the edge while strapped to a crucifix. Fortunately, you’ll be spared the ordeal, but the experience is equally as spiritual.

Cross over to Argentina and you can be up close-and-personal, so close you can almost touch the water. One of the biggest thrills is walking over the suspended platform that traverses The Devil’s Throat, a gurgling, spitting, rampaging flurry of water.

Amazon exploration

Fly north to the colony city of Manuas. Here you’ll board the Amazon Odyssey expedition cruise boat, your home for the next four nights. The cruise explores some of the most amazing wildlife and cultural spots in the rainforest. Venture into the Rio Negro and along the Amazon River. Hike through the forest in search of exotic bird life and mammals including many species of monkey. You’ll be accompanied by expert guides which ensure you make the most of your time here.
