city break

As soon as you arrive in Lima our local guides will be waiting to pick you up and take you to the Casa Andina Premium Miraflores in one of the best districts in town. Spend a couple of days getting under this fantastic city (that many people seem to overlook) with its famous museums, lively nightlife and gourmet cuisine.

Inca empire

Jet off to the Cuzco, centre of the Inca empire. Spend a couple of days acclimatizing to the height enjoying light walks to see nearby ruins and taking in the many treasures that the city has to offer. Stay at Inkaterra La Casona where you’ll be treated like royalty before embarking on your mountain trek of Peru.

going higher

Take small steps to further your acclimatisation to the lofty heights of the soaring Andean mountains. You’ll climb gently to the Inca ruins of Limatambo, set in a tranquil idyll that’ll ease your mind, body and soul. The ruins are a taster of the mighty Macchu Picchu, but few see this part of the sacred region that’s well and truly off-the-beaten-path. Stay at the Salkantay Lodge and take gentle walks in the local area. You’ll be prepared for the ascents that’ll take you over the Inca trail.

trek the Incas

The next day our guides will help you start the epic trail to the sacred city itself, hiking on the first day through the Rio Blanco Valley, encircling the Humantay Peak to marvel at the Vilcabamba range below. Bed down for the night in the comfortable Wayra Lodge. The next day your have the opportunity for some optional trekking before descending through the Salkantey valley and the increasingly verdant scenery to the Colpa Lodge. Begin the next day in the footsteps of the ancient pilgrims, plunging deeper into the lush green forests, cutting through the Santa Theresa Valley. The swathe of hills are a majestic patchwork of coffee plantations, orchards and banana trees until you reach Lucma Lodge

exquisite temples

Next day take a trek up the Llactapata Pass. It’s here you’ll have glimpses of Machu Picchu and be able to get a feel for the majesty of the complex before we take you by train closer to these exquisite temples. Spend the last night in utter comfort at the Inkaterra Machu Picchu. Our early morning visit to Machu Picchu is perfectly timed to avoid the crowds and your private guide will be on hand to point out the prominent features and answer any questions. There are few better sights in the world than sunrise peaking over this sacred lost city and it’s here you’ll be immersed in the golden glow of this awe-inspiring monument. It’s a cracking last sight to end your trip before we take you home safe and sound.
